EQIP Training For Landowners and Foresters

This workshop will provide guidance on applying for funding from NRCS cost-sharing programs (specifically the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP)) for landowners and foresters. These programs can be extremely helpful for landowners looking to improve wildlife habitat opportunities on their property, treat invasive exotic plants, engage in pre-commercial timber stand improvement work and repair unstable forestry infrastructure. However, the process of applying for funding and implementing funded projects can sometimes be challenging for landowners and their consultants to navigate.

Join us for a day of de-mystifying these programs, and giving landowners and foresters the tools required to access these amazing resources. The workshop will consist of a morning “classroom” session, and an afternoon of visiting implemented EQIP projects in the field.

This workshop will be co-sponsored by the Chittenden County Forester, Vermont Woodlands Association, Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department and Audubon Vermont. The workshop will be free, but pre-registration is required. Please contact Chittenden County Forester Ethan Tapper at ethan.tapper@vermont.gov or (802)-585-9099 for more information, or to register for the event.
