COVID-19 and Forest Economy

Updates from Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation

A letter from FPR Commissioner Michael Snyder

We hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy. In our note last week regarding forest economy businesses and the Stay Home, Stay Safe order, we mentioned resources we were creating to support you and our vital forest economy businesses. This information is now live on our FPR COVID 19 Website.

This website provides information specific to the forest economy, Coronavirus (COVID-19) Forest Business Impact Survey to inform us about the many impacts of the COVID-19 crisis and to help us develop a response plan, and additional ways to let us know how we can best support a recovery effort.

In addition, the webpage offers links to resources from the Agency of Commerce and Community Development, the lead agency providing business support and information on the CARES Act. As it becomes clearer what additional support is needed or available, we'll continue to develop forestry-specific resources and responses and keep you informed.

FPR has also created a COVID-19 Forestry Email Listserv for important and timely email updates. Click here to subscribe to this email listserv.

Finally, and as always, please email VT Department of Forests, Parks and Rereation with any questions or thoughts you'd like to share regarding.
