The Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation is soliciting input from outdoor recreation  sector, including providers, advocates, and businesses, via this online survey to help understand views on outdoor recreation in Vermont, and for use in developing Vermont’s next Statewide Comprehensive

LaPlatte Headwaters Town Forest Public Walk to Showcase Restoration Projects

On September 28, 2019, the Hinesburg Town Forest Committee and the Chittenden County Forester will host a public walk on the LaPlatte Headwaters Town Forest (LHTF), a 301-acre conserved municipal forest owned by the Town of Hinesburg since 2007. The purpose of this walk is two-fold: to seek input on the upcoming Management Plan for the LHTF and to raise awareness of current restoration and management efforts there.

Working Lands Enterprise Board Celebrates FY19 Grantees - Program Receives Increased FY20 State Funding

Eighteen Vermont working lands businesses and service providers were recognized today at an event celebrating the Working Lands Enterprise Initiative (WLEI), created by the Legislature in 2012 to stimulate economic development in the agricultural and forestry sectors. Governor Phil Scott and Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets Secretary Anson Tebbetts recognized each grantee on the grounds of the Intervale Center in Burlington, also a grantee, to emphasize the importance of working lands businesses to Vermont’s economy and heritage.
